1960 Ragtop

1960 Volkswagen Ragtop Beetle
This very rare 1960 ragtop beetle has come to us to be panelled whilst the owner is away for 3 Months in Australia. A genuine right hand drive car, this will be stunning when finished.

The car had already had a fair amount of work carried out. We were asked to fit new floorpans, new heater chanels, new framehead sections and a pair of front inner wings. Of course the advantage with VW beetles is that the bodyshells can be removed from their chassis. However care must be taken to ensure that everything remains in its correct position. Aswell as the more structural repairs, we also had to replace both door frames and lower outer skins, make repairs around the front windscreen and fit new rear wing mountings.

With the welding finished, we had both the chassis and bodyshell sand blasted to remove old paint and surface rust. This can be seen on the next page.
