Scott's Ford Escort Mk1
Scott found this tawny brown mk1 after it had been involved in a tiny front end bump. Someone had started trying to repair the accident damage using just bodyfiller, but otherwise this car was as good as your ever likely to find. Structually very very solid, we had a few areas to tidy for the cars MOT.
A pair of new bonnet hinge panels were fitted (1st photo) and a pair of new wing rails (2nd Photo). However the most time consuming part of this job was repairing the front mexico wings. They had been removed and refited a few times in the cars past, and as a result the front edges and wing rail sections were badly damaged. They were also badly damaged along their back where the mount to the drivers A (door) pillar. Repair sections had to be fabricated as good condition mexico wings retail at around £500 each!!

Firstly the front doors were removed, allowing us access to carefully remove the 'mexico' front wings. This allowed us to see the extent of rust to the front innerwing splash shield and bonnet hinge mounting plate areas. The front panel and radiator support panel were also removed.
With the wings repaired we could begin the slow process of aligning the front end body panels and gaps. New radiator support panels, slam panel, front panel and a floor panel were fitted at this point. Small repairs were made to the lower front inner wings and leading edge of outer sills. With this done, the car could be prepared for paint!
