Adam's Ford Escort Mk1 - Page Four
With the welding very close to completion, we decided it was a good time to return the car to Adam for its parts to be 'mocked up' or trial fitted. This would allow adam to drill various holes for brake and fuel lines, electrical connectors, fit seatbelts etc, without damaging the final paint job. Its an important step, and Adam wanted to do this himself. As a result, we stripped the remaining old cellulose paint back to bare metal, and  sprayed the shell with a thick coating of Oxide primer. Oxide primer is absolutely fantastic at inhibiting rust, and so would protect the metalwork from moisture whilst it sat in Adam's garage. When the car returns for its final paint job, the oxide primer will be stripped off and the car will have a full, bare metal respray. Please note that in the pictures below, the car has NO bodyfiller or seam sealer Anywhere. It is purely skilled metalwork.

Please check back soon, as we anticipate the car will be painted winter 07 or Early 2008!
