Gary Dunnes Toyota Corolla AE86 Restoration.

With the welding now finished, the first area to paint was the boot floor area.
The entire outside of the car could then be prepped ready for painting, the Corolla bodywork was in very good condition apart from a few small 'pin' dents. The bottom edges of the doors had to be repaired with fresh metal.
On went the Toyota Super Red, followed by a coat of black. The finish on the car was beginning to look quite special. The following photos are with the paint 'straight from the gun'. That is, without being touched, flatted or polished.
Gary had collected a number of parts for the car from Japan, including side skirts and a front splitter. We also fitted later spec front and rear bumpers from a Toyota AE87, and japanese spec front lights and indicator units. The front grill is from a later spec Corolla.

We also fitted Bilstein dampers and 40mm lowered springs, and got the car through its MOT.
The next page shows the car in its finished state with all work completed. Although Gary has since chosen to swap the minilite wheels for a larger size, and replaced the springs with a 60mm drop.

Please be aware that a number of the photos are large files so may take a short while to load, please be patient, we think they are worth waiting for!!!
